Ukraine
is my Motherland
Ukraine is a very
beautiful country with a rich history, interesting customs and traditions. We
are the nation with a strong character and belief in better future.
I agree with the opinion of Svyatoslav Vakarchuk “ Don`t accept Ukraine
as the land of your parents. Consider it the land of your children. Then the
changes will come ...”
I love my country and I
believe Ukraine needs changes for sure! We have amazing nature which we must
protect. We have the most fertile land in the world which should be used
reasonably. We have glorious and heroic past that we are proud of.
I can surely say about my Motherland as the most marvellous country I
have ever seen. Ukraine is situated in the Easten Europe and has the seas,
lakes, rivers, high mountains, wide fields and dense forests.
In this country there are
wonderful monuments, palaces, museums and cathedrals. It is our common
heritage.
To my mind Ukraine has the most delicious cuisine. Our traditional meals
are borsch, varenyky, salo and uzvar. My mother says she likes Ukrainian dishes
most of all and I agree with her. Even vegetables which are grown on
Ukrainian lands have special taste and smell
.
I cannot but talk about the capital of
Ukraine. It is Kyiv. We are proud of it! It is the city of churches and
monasteries, the center of Kyivean Rus in the ancient times. It is a really
glorious city!
On the other hand we know facts which are not good in the history of the
country. All of us remember events during Euromaidan. It was a hard period in our lives.
Grief touched everybody in different ways, but we were united and saved our
Motherland. Nobody could have ever thought that our neighbouring country would
become aggressive to us! Ukrainian soldiers and volunteers are protecting our borders
nowadays. Thanks to them we can sleep quietly. Everybody must help our
defenders in various ways for the Victory in this war.
In old times, Cossacks were independent,
free and brave people. I believe that we should be like them. I am proud of my
Motherland, its people, achievements in politics, economy, culture or
medicine.
To sum it up, I should say ” Respect yourself, because we are worth of it”. Whatever happens we must honour our ancestors' heritage and go on
living doing everything for the benefit of our fascinating country and its
descendants.
